Damiana Leaf

Damiana Leaf

~ Add a Little Spark to your Life ~

Damiana Leaf, Turnera diffusa, is a shrub native to southern Texas in the United States, Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. It is sometimes referred to as Mexican Damiana. Most often, it used for its aphrodisiac properties, to boost libido, and help with sexual stamina. This tradition has been used by many Native American tribes for hundreds of years.

Herbalists have also discovered many other uses for Damiana. It is also used to treat headaches, depression, bedwetting, constipation, and nervous stomach; for prevention and treatment of sexual problems; for female reproduction issues, especially during menopause; and for strengthening and maintaining both mental and physical stamina.

How is Damiana used?

The most common preparation of Damiana is in tea (infusion). An herbal infusion of Damiana is typically made with 1 tsp of the herb per cup of water and steeped for 10-15 minutes.

Others breathe in the smoke from incense or mix it into a Smoking Blend.

Personally, I prefer to take Damiana in a tincture form. This is why I created my Damiana Elixir. The medicinal constituents are extracted with Black Berry Brandy.

Spiritual Uses of Damiana:

Magically, Damiana is used for Sex Magic; to Increase Energy; as a Divination Aid or Clairvoyance Tool; to promoted Lucid Dreaming; and to Strengthen and Energize Spells.
